Get your tickets today at the link below!OCOB Alum Turns Passion into Startup BusinessJason Wheeler (Business Administration, ’00) has turned his longtime passion for repurposing materials into JackRabbit Salvage Marketplace, an online startup launched through Cal Poly’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The platform connects people donating salvageable construction materials with those looking to recover and reuse them, recently helping a local contractor repurpose flooring from Kennedy Library during its renovation.Wave Generator Created by CENG GraduatesNine Cal Poly engineering graduates partnered with the Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center to design a compact, wave-powered generator that could replace diesel units used by Marines to recharge batteries in remote coastal zones. Students, families, supporters and alumni gathered to mark the start of an exciting new chapter and connect across generations of Mustangs. The gatherings offered a mix of activities and conversations, giving alumni a chance to share advice and memories while welcoming students into the Cal Poly community.More Alumni News• Sage Casaga (Business Administration, ’20) and Jennifer Harlow (Agricultural Business, ’19) met at the Cal Poly alumni fall career fair mixer in 2022. They got engaged in May of this year and credit Cal Poly for bringing them together! • Gotthard Janson (Mechanical Engineering, ’64) served 25 years in the U.S. Air Force before becoming a contractor for NASA’s Spacelab, space shuttle and International Space Station programs. He is preparing to begin work on Mars exploration efforts. • Russell “Russ” E. Allen (Business Administration, ’71)was named the 2024 Individual Texas Master Gardener. Allen is the project manager for a developing 12-acre Community Strong Farm that supports a high school student-run food bank and the First Refuge Food Bank of Denton, TX.
